Cave Hill Cemetery
A Victorian garden city of the dead where Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders rest a short stroll apart. Maps at the office; best manners throughout.
The Witches' Tree
Legend says the city cut a coven's meeting tree in 1889 and the coven answered with the 1890 tornado. The gnarled replacement wears beads, coins, and charms. Leave a trinket; take nothing.
Louisville Mega Cavern
A hundred-acre former limestone mine under the city — tram tours through the geology and Cold War lore, underground zip lines for the brave, drive-through lights at Christmas.
Scoop stop
Dairy Del's towering cones (since 1951) or the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen's Dutch apple à la mode. Both is a defensible ruling.
Pope Lick Park — from below ONLY
The Goatman's trestle looms over the park lawn. The bridge is an active railroad and people have died on it: nobody sets foot on it, ever. The legend is fully collectible from the grass — the only place monsters respect anyway.
If the day runs long: Waverly Hills, the famous hilltop sanatorium, runs official tours in season; some carry age minimums — check before promising anyone a haunted hospital.
